Business Development and Counselling

General

The staff of Community Futures White Horse Plains can help people develop the knowledge, experience and attitudes that enable them to pursue their entrepreneurial goals.

Our skilled staff provide a wide range of business counselling and training services on topics such as:

  • Conducting market research
  • Creating business plans
  • Setting up accounting systems
  • Understanding your financial options

To qualify for assistance, your business must be located within one of our member municipalities, or you must be prepared to relocate into the area. Member communities include the Rural Municipalities of Cartier, Headingley, Portage la Prairie and St. Francois Xavier, all located in Manitoba, Canada.

Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Program

Community Futures White Horse Plains has a program designed to make it easier for entrepreneurs with disabilities to pursue their business goals and contribute to the economic growth of their communities.

Assistance available includes:

  • Help to develop customized business plans
  • Mentoring and counselling services
  • Training in business management
  • One-on-one assistance
  • Help to identify needs for specialized equipment and the assistance need to acquire it
  • Access to capital

Resource Guide for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities

Staff of several Manitoba CF's, including WHP, have developed an extensive resource guide for entrepreneurs with disabilities. If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the EDP Resource Guide, please complete the form below and one of our staff will contact you. The guide is available from CF offices in Manitoba only and is free of charge.

Western Youth Entrepreneur Program

If you are between the ages of 18 and 29 and have a creative business idea, then this program can assist you. The Western Youth Entrepreneur Program is an initiative of Western Economic Diversification Canada in support of the Federal Government's Jobs and Growth Strategy, helping to develop job opportunities by providing business loans and services to young entrepreneurs in rural Western Canada.
